The Southern Section Division I second-round football game between Mater Dei and Sherman Oaks Notre Dame will be played Friday at Los Angeles Valley College. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.

Fountain Valley’s Candie Kung, who has signed to play golf at USC, made the cut Wednesday at the AJGA Junior Classic in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Kung shot a 78 for a two-day total of 152. Sonora’s Angela Rho also made the cut for the match-play portion of the week-long event, shooting 78 for a 158 total.

Brian Sinay of Irvine was the only county boy to make the cut, shooting 72 for a 148 total. Yorba Linda’s Nicholas Bollini (150) and Ronald Won (152) and Mike Lavery (157), both of Irvine, missed the cut.
