Ray Bardone
Orange Coast, Sophomore
Track & Field
Bardone, from Edison High, won his second consecutive Southern California decathlon championship in a two-day competition at Santa Barbara. Bardone won the javelin and the 110 hurdles on the second day to finish with 6,234 points. Bardone had 5,931 points last year.
Baseball
Joe Urban
* Santa Ana, sophomore. He was seven for 14 with two home runs and drove in six as the Dons won four games.
Sara Vaughn
Santa Ana, Sophomore
Softball
Vaughn, from Orange Lutheran High, is a pitcher and designated player for the Dons. She was nine for 17, scored five runs, stole five bases and also drove in two runs as Santa Ana went 5-1-1 last week, including winning the Fullerton Tournament. She also had a save.
Softball
Sara Louwsma
* Cypress, freshman. She pitched a three-hitter as the Chargers defeated Palomar, 1-0, in a nonconference game.
