Karen Colby, assistant superintendent of the Ocean View School District, presented the board of trustees with information on the state’s School Safety and Violence Prevention Block Grant.
The grant provides $100 million to schools to promote a safe learning environment for students. Funds may be used for hiring conflict resolution personnel, buying communication devices and working with law enforcement agencies. Applications for the grant must be turned in by Friday.
