The City Council will consider suggestions for changing a policy for removing trees during a workshop today at 5:30 p.m. in the Executive Board Room at City Hall.
Currently, the city will remove a tree only if it is causing damage to a street, sidewalk or sewer line. Jeff Sinn, the city’s director of public works, said he will suggest a program that would allow the city to remove and replace problem trees when a resident is willing to foot the bill.
The Executive Board Room is in the west wing of City Hall, 5275 Orange Ave., Cypress. Information: (714) 229-6740.
