Boston Tour Taps Into Technology Scene
Boston is giving techies a reason to unplug their laptops while visiting the city: a 2 1/2-hour tour of science, technology and financial sites.
The “Innovation Trail” includes GTE, an Internet and e-mail pioneer; the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; and Massachusetts General Hospital’s “ether dome,” where the first surgery under anesthesia was demonstrated in 1846.
A few special group tours were run last year by the Boston History Collective. This year, the tour begins at 10 a.m. every third Saturday, starting March 17. The cost is $25 adults, $18 seniors and students, $15 children. Telephone (617) 574-5950, Internet https://www.innovationtrail.com.
