Six Killed in Separate U.S. Raids; 28 Held

American troops backed by air support killed three people in overnight raids on suspected militants in southeastern Afghanistan, the U.S. military said, and Afghan officials reported that U.S. forces killed three Taliban commanders elsewhere.
The U.S. military said that three suspected militants were killed and 23 people held after four U.S. soldiers were wounded during raids in Khowst province.
Farther south, the Kandahar provincial government said U.S. forces killed three Taliban commanders and arrested five more.
