BBC Producer Fatally Shot in the Back

A militiaman shot a British Broadcasting Corp. journalist in the back outside a hotel in Mogadishu, the broadcaster said, and she died during surgery.
Producer Kate Peyton, 39, was accompanied by BBC reporter Peter Greste outside the Sahafi Hotel, but he was not injured.
Peyton and Greste had just arrived in Somalia for a series of reports on the country. The assailant fled, and the reason for the shooting was not immediately known.
