Wheels versus feet

I wanted to comment on the article regarding the “plight” of mountain bicyclists in public parks [“Battle of Wheels,”Jan. 25]. The speed and aggressive nature of bikes pose real threats to trails, hikers, equestrians and wildlife. The home of mountain biking, Moab, Utah, has closed previously opened trails based on user conflict. Damage to fragile trails is very real. Equality on trails is available -- but bicyclists will have to park their bikes at the head of the trails and tread lightly like the rest of us in sensitive areas!
