CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Billie McDowell scored 26 points, helping No. 21-ranked North Carolina State defeat Miami, 71-68, Monday night to give Coach Kay Yow a win in her 900th career game with the Wolfpack.
McDowell made nine of 14 shots, including six of 10 from three-point range for North Carolina State, (18-5 overall, 7-3 in Atlantic Coast Conference). Yow’s career record is 614-286.
Tamara James had 23 points and Yalonda McCormick 20 for Miami (12-12, 4-7).
