T-Bill Rates at Highest Level Since 2001

Interest rates on short-term Treasury bills rose in the latest auction to the highest levels in more than three years.
The Treasury Department sold $21 billion in three-month bills at a discount rate of 2.62%, up from 2.54% last week. An additional $18 billion in six-month bills was sold at a discount rate of 2.85%, up from 2.76% last week.
The three-month rate was the highest since three-month bills averaged 3.18% on Sept. 10, 2001. The six-month rate was the highest since 3.12% on Sept. 10, 2001.
