Remains identified as those of missing couple

Authorities this week identified the remains of a Simi Valley couple reported missing in late July.
Los Angeles County coroner’s officials identified skeletal remains of Robert J. Callender, 63, and his wife, Barbara, 62, on Wednesday. Their bodies had been found seven days earlier below Malibu Canyon Road, about two miles north of Pacific Coast Highway.
The official cause of death will be determined after toxicology test results are received in several weeks.
Family and friends last had contact with the couple on July 28, when Robert Callender was at his business, Information Systems Support Group in Burbank.
