* at Central Florida 56, Memphis 20: Kevin Smith ran 22 times for 124 yards and three touchdowns, then took most of the second half off as the Knights (2-1, 1-0) rolled past the Tigers (1-2, 0-1) in a Conference USA game at Orlando.

* at Texas Christian 21, Southern Methodist 7: The Horned Frogs (2-2) scored on a blocked punt and an interception return to beat the Mustangs (1-3) in a C-USA game at Fort Worth.

* at Houston 38, Colorado State 27: Case Keenum’s eight-yard keeper in the fourth quarter gave the Cougars (2-1) the lead in a victory over the Rams (0-3), who have lost 10 in a row.

* at Tulane 35, Southeastern Louisiana 27: Matt Forte set Conference USA and school records with 303 rushing yards and a school record with five rushing touchdowns to lead the Green Wave (1-2) over the Lions (1-3) at New Orleans. Forte carried the ball 40 times. The victory was the first at Tulane for Coach Bob Toledo, formerly of UCLA.

* at Texas El Paso 52, Texas Southern 12: The Miners (2-2) scored on their first five possessions and cruised past the Tigers (0-4).

* at Bowling Green 48, Temple 35: Tyler Sheehan threw for 351 yards and four touchdown passes to lead the Falcons (2-1, 1-2) over the Owls (0-4, 0-2) in a Mid-American Conference game at Bowling Green, Ohio.

* at Akron 27, Kent State 20: Carlton Jackson ran for a touchdown and passed for another, and the Zips (2-2, 1-0) scored 17 points in the fourth quarter to rally past the Golden Flashes (2-2, 0-1) in a MAC game at Akron, Ohio.

* Wyoming 34, at Ohio 33: Devin Moore rushed for 198 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and Karsten Sween passed for two more, including a five-yarder to Michael Ford with 2:02 left, as the Cowboys (3-1) rallied to beat the Bobcats (2-2) at Athens, Ohio.

* North Dakota State 44, at Central Michigan 14: Tyler Roehl ran for 143 yards in 30 carries with three touchdowns as the Bison (3-0) routed the Chippewas (1-3) at Mount Pleasant.
