Low Watts-age
YOU have to be kidding. In the otherwise excellent review of the Rolling Stones’ “Shine a Light” film [“Putting a ‘Shine’ on Rolling Stones,” April 4), Kenneth Turan doesn’t mention drummer Charlie Watts at all. Never mind Turan lists half the 18 cameramen, relatively new bassist Daryl Jones, sometimes saxophonist Bobby Keys, etc. And to add insult to injury, the accompanying photo cut off Watts’ head.
If you watch this movie closely, it’s obvious Watts is the one musician on stage who isn’t acting.
He’s playing his heart out, making the rest of those onstage sound so good. Come on: Give the drummer some!
